Why this site exists
I'm a traveller from Australia. Watching the wildfires tear through Oregon and Washington this year has been heartbreaking to witness, even from a distance: the homes lost, the land burned, the animals displaced.
I wasn't sure what I could actually do to help, so I built this site: a single place with verified official information, ways to actually help that go straight to trusted organizations, and practical guidance for people in the path of the fires.
I'm not a government agency, a nonprofit, or an emergency service, just someone who wanted to do something useful. If this site helps even a few people get better information or find a place to donate, it was worth building.
This is a volunteer project, not an official service
- This site is not affiliated with any government agency, emergency service, or the organizations it links to.
- For anything safety-critical, like evacuation levels, road closures, or air quality, always defer to the official sources on the Live Info page, or call 911 in an emergency.
- Organization listings are for convenience and don't imply endorsement. Confirm you're on an organization's official page before donating.
Your privacy on this site
This matters more during a crisis, not less, so here's exactly what this site does and doesn't do with your information.
- No account or login is required anywhere on this site.
- No analytics, ad trackers, or cookies are used to follow you around.
- The evacuation checklist's checkboxes aren't saved or tracked anywhere; they only exist in that page's memory while you're looking at it, and reset when you leave. Nothing about which items you checked is recorded.
- When you click a link to an official source or a relief organization, this site doesn't pass along any information about you or that you came from here.
- The public comment board only stores what you choose to type. Name is optional, and no email, phone, or account is required to post.
